Building Financial Confidence Through Event Planning
We started in 2019 with a simple observation—people were spending thousands on events without understanding where their money actually went. Six years later, we're still helping Canadians plan better.
How We Got Here
Our founder, Alasdair Penridge, spent a decade working with event companies across British Columbia. He noticed something odd—clients would approve budgets without really grasping the financial implications. A wedding here, a corporate retreat there. Costs would balloon, and people felt stuck.
So in early 2019, he started offering free consultations to friends planning events. Just sitting down with spreadsheets and breaking down real numbers. What if you chose this venue instead? How does catering actually work? The feedback was immediate—people wanted this clarity before committing to anything.
That's when Vylvextron became a real thing. Not a software platform or some flashy app. Just practical guidance for folks who wanted their event budgets to make sense.
What Matters to Us
We're not trying to revolutionize anything. These are just the principles that keep us focused when working with clients.
Clear Numbers
Your budget shouldn't feel like a mystery. We show you exactly what everything costs and why—no buried fees or surprise charges later.
Real Conversations
Every client gets actual time with someone who knows this stuff. Email works, but sometimes you just need to talk through options.
Local Context
BC event costs are different from Ontario or Quebec. We focus on what actually makes sense in your region and situation.
Who's Actually Doing the Work
Small team. Everyone here has planned events themselves or worked directly with budgets. We get the stress involved.

Worked in event coordination for twelve years before starting Vylvextron. Still does most client consultations personally.
Experience That Counts
Our team has handled budgets ranging from small family gatherings to corporate events with hundreds of attendees. That range matters when you're trying to understand cost scaling.
Learning Resources
We run quarterly workshops starting September 2025. Topics include vendor negotiation, seasonal pricing patterns, and budget adjustment strategies. Open to anyone interested.
Client Focus
Most of our clients come from referrals. Someone plans their event, sees how the budget process worked, and tells a friend about it. That's basically our marketing strategy.
Ongoing Support
Financial planning doesn't stop when you pick a venue. We stay involved through the whole process—vendor discussions, timeline adjustments, unexpected changes.
Our Approach to Event Investment
Look, event planning gets complicated fast. Venues have different pricing structures. Caterers work on various models. Vendors quote differently depending on season and availability.
We help you sort through that noise. Not by giving you a magic formula, but by walking through your specific situation and showing you where your money actually goes.
Initial Budget Review
You bring us your rough plans and budget estimates. We go through each line item and explain what's realistic, what's optimistic, and what you might be missing entirely.
Vendor Analysis
Once you're talking to vendors, we help you compare quotes properly. Same services can be packaged completely differently, making comparison tricky without context.
Timeline Adjustments
Things change during planning. Guest counts shift. Priorities evolve. We help you adjust your budget accordingly without losing track of your overall financial picture.
